Fans can be sponsors

There’s no reason fans have to leave sponsorship to brands. True, brands tend to have deeper pockets, but don’t discount the power of passionate fans! There’s nothing to stop a determined group of fans from pooling funds to set up a sponsorship campaign to help their favorite artist’s music get out to new listeners. What a great use of social media and fan blogs!!

The only piece of advice we’d offer is to recruit a well-known and trusted person to manage the fund-raising part. When money is involved, transparency and accountability are key. We’ve managed various campaigns and fund-raisers for our fave artists and are happy to share what we’ve learned.
