Breaking into the music business today is a killer. Things are so bad that the Ontario band The Barr Brothers decided to try their hand at what they deemed was a more lucrative pursuit: YouTube videomaking. And like any well-schooled storyteller, they told the tale they know best – hard-working troubadours working their fingers to the bone in pursuit of their first album, only to be cruelly rebuffed by The Industry. It ends in a gunfight and death. But they tacked on a Disney coda. The Bard Brothers were signed to Secret City, and their album drops on September 27. Now wasn’t that worth the price of the popcorn?
